Mark your calendars--OMOP is holding its inaugural symposium on November 12 – 13, 2009, in Bethesda, Maryland. The mission of the OMOP 2009 Symposium is to discuss the challenges of observational analysis and the progress towards achieving OMOP’s Research Goals. The program will provide an overview of OMOP including:

  • The Challenges of Using Observational Data
  • OMOP’s Research Plan and Progress Report
  • Establishing a Research Community of Distributed Data Partners
  • Technical Tracks on Defining Health Outcomes of Interest, Technical Infrastructure,
    Requirements for Active Surveillance, Common Data Model and Vocabularies, and Methods Development
  • Roundtable: Perspectives on Drug Safety Systems and Importance of Research
  • You will have an opportunity to interact with the OMOP research team and share ideas about methods development and studies designed to assess different types of electronic healthcare data.
