There are sequential phases within the OMOP research plan:
Phase I: Research Preparation (February 2009 – July 2009). Develop concept protocols into detailed executable research protocols, define common data model and codesets and perform transformation of datasets.
Phase II: Feasibility of Analyses (August 2009 – October 2009). Execute research protocols which test feasibility of analyses, refine protocols based on results.
Phase III: Perform Analyses (November 2009 –May 2010). Execute research protocols which test performance of various methods on datasets.
Phase IV: Utility of Analyses and Process (June 2010–September 2010). Execute research protocols which test utility of analytical results and applicability of processes to drug safety surveillance.
Decommission Pilot Infrastructure & Summarize Research Results (September 2010 – November 2010).
The Systems Integrator will decommission the OMOP Pilot infrastructure. OMOP will summarize and document the results from all studies.
